Kenya Katie Visits Vacation Bible School

Throughout the past week, I experienced some of the most wonderful ministry moments while sharing about Inua Partners in Hope at Vacation Bible School. This year, students attending Vacation Bible School at the First United Methodist Church of Winter Park learned about how even when life is unfair, scary, changing, sad, or good… GOD IS GOOD! While learning about how God is so good, the children met some of the Inua youth through videos and learned about the Inua mission. I got to introduce my good friends from Kenya and share about the Inua ministry on stage each day as Kenya Katie. We shared lots of laughs and learned many lessons about God’s goodness while also raising support for the Inua ministry. Each day, the children counted up their shirts, bicycles, vegetables, or family members to bring in change and meet the daily money challenge. The children set out to raise $3,000 by the end of the week and surpassed their goal by $400 for a grand total of $3,400.67. Although I am so proud of the children for working together and passing their goal, I am even more grateful for the ministry that happened in this church last week. Some of these children have attended our church since birth and are already participating in the ministry as Prayer Partners while others have never been to church before and just heard about God’s goodness for the first time. Regardless of their background, all of the kids were exposed to God’s goodness this week and learned about how incredible He is in both Naivasha, Kenya and Winter Park, Florida. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to share this ministry with the youngest members of our church and look forward to seeing the ways these kids share God’s goodness throughout their lives.
